Volunteers are essential to T.R.A.C.E.’s mission. Our onboarding process ensures all volunteers are prepared, trained, and supported to make a meaningful impact.
HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER
- Apply – It begins with completing the volunteer interest form. Additional forms may be required depending on the role.
- Review & Interview – Applications are reviewed, and applicants may be interviewed to determine the best role fit.
- Background Checks (Required as Applicable) – Volunteers in roles involving client contact, finances, or sensitive responsibilities must complete background checks in accordance with state and federal law. Volunteers who decline required screenings cannot be placed in these positions.
- Orientation & Training – Approved volunteers receive orientation covering T.R.A.C.E.’s mission, policies, safety procedures, and program-specific expectations.
- Minors – Volunteers under 18 must have parental consent and supervision according to state law. Volunteers under the minimum age set by law are not accepted. High-risk duties (unsupervised contact with vulnerable populations or handling finances) are restricted for minors.
